Dear Reader,
This archive is a work in progress. New material appears regularly and there's always heaps to add to the site. Please bear with.
As you explore the parish records, census data, family trees and individual histories gathered here, you'll find that names, places and subjects often appear as links (in bold or a different colour or underlined.) Click any that interest you and you'll find connected material: newspaper clippings, family trees, photographs, anecdotes. One thread leads to another.
You might start by searching for your own family name and find yourself, an hour later, deep in the story of a neighbour's ancestor or a half-forgotten local tradition.
You can also browse the posts and categories on the left of this page, or click through the carousel images on the homepage.
This archive lives and breathes through contribution. Perhaps you'd consider being interviewed for an 'oral history' podcast? or if you possess photographs or any documents that could add new understanding, I'd love to hear from you.
Thank you and best,
Bee Lilyjones.
